Are You Thinking About Teaching in Saudi Arabia? Read this first

A recent article in MENAFM (Arab News) report many western teachers are complaining of breach in their teaching contracts. The article reports many are being overworked, being misled and inadequate medical care by the hosting management company. Read more...

Before you consider moving overseas to teach, consider the following:

1. Review your contract and read the fine print. We recommend speaking with teachers already working for the company or school.

2. Find out what their policy is regarding family members. Will your children or spouse be able to relocate? What are the Visa requirements?

3. Obtain your own Visa. Don't be dependent on the company or school to obtain your work and residence Visa.

4. Obtain your own medical insurance. Don't be dependent on the school or socialized medical system unless your completely comfortable with the accessibility and quality of care. Get a quote for private international health insurance here.

5. Know how to end your contract. Go back to step 1 and make sure you review your contract before you sign. Understand your committments and any possible fines if you decide you need to end your contract.
